Doug Sherrod

While attending the University of San Diego School of Law, Mr. Sherrod was selected to intern at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of California. There, he assisted in the prosecution of former Congressman Randall “Duke” Cunningham, among other matters.

After graduation, he was recruited to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. Over the next eight years, Mr. Sherrod earned a reputation as one of the most skilled and tenacious trial attorneys in the county and rose to the rank of Senior Trial Attorney. He specialized in complex homicide and gang prosecutions and maintained one of the highest jury conviction rates in the office. Los Angeles judges have described him as “brilliant,” “uncommonly effective” in front of a jury, and “among the best they had seen” in their years on the bench.

After eight years in public service, Mr. Sherrod founded Sherrod Defense, APC, where he has provided sophisticated civil and criminal advocacy to individuals for more than a decade. His practice has included securing the dismissal of murder charges, litigating HIPAA claims, and pursuing civil rights actions on behalf of individuals harmed by state action.

Mr. Sherrod is a member of the State Bar of California and is licensed to practice in all California state courts. He is also admitted to the United States District Court for the Central District of California and the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.
